Nestlé Nespresso S.A. is a subsidiary of food giant Nestlé S.A.

The Nespresso subsidiary was founded in Switzerland back in 1986, producing the first coffee capsule system. They have established a reputation for providing the “European cafe experience” for coffee aficionados all over the world—including restaurant and home baristas—with their specially designed coffee machines that exclusively brew Nespresso coffee capsules. Companies such as Miele, Porsche and Alessi have collaborated in designing Nespresso coffee machines.

The company has received s a Red Dot Best of the Best Prize for high quality design, a Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, and the Small Appliance Award from the UK Industry Awards—among others.

Nestlé Nespresso has opened coffee boutiques in Brussels, Miami, New York, Munich and Sydney, Shanghai and Cape Town. In 2010, Nestlé Nespresso S.A. reached 220 coffee boutiques worldwide.
